North Idaho's river side, road side, sport climbing spot
Maybe not a world-class destination, but surely a worthy crag for locals wanting to get stronger or relax by the river, and for climbers passing though. Laclede Rocks is Sandpoint's local crag and features more than 140 routes. This guide is an effort to update information from previous guides and provide a complete picture of the current state of Laclede Rocks.
Guidebook writing for such a small crag is more of an act of passion rather than a way to fund even the paper it is printed on. Enough people have asked about the crag that I see it as a way to support the local community and assist climbers wanting to see a new area. As a result, the guide is being distributed free of charge as a PDF to support the North Idaho climbing community. If you appreciate the guide, consider providing a donation to the Sandpoint Rock Gym. The SRG is a non-profit climbing co-op which aims to make climbing accessible to people in Sandpoint. Donations will be directed to improving the facility and getting more people to try on climbing shoes.
